The Worship Circle wants to thank so many of you for contributing to our worship services each week in so many ways. The choir, the tech team, the readers and sharing time folk, the pageant characters, the greeters and offering stewards. Thank you to Gavan, Daniel and Jenni for your leadership and collaboration. We are blessed to have you at Kitchissippi.

I asked the members of the Worship Circle to share their special worship memories from 2024 for this report.

One wrote “On Disabilities Sunday I thought Ophelia Brown’s talk was inspiring and emotional. Since I knew the young women’s history, I felt enveloped in some form of miracle. It felt otherworldly.” Listening to her and Rev. Eric Herbert Daly made it a special service for me. Dec 1, 2024.

A memory from September was this,” Russ Mills spoke about our generation’s responsibility to leave a better world for future generations and that was followed by the Multi Faith Housing Initiative speaker Sheldon Leong and his terrific presentation dealing in many ways with the same subject. September 22, 2024.

One of our Circle members said she really has appreciated our move to work Indigenous spiritually into our important celebrations, including drumming and smudging at our Palm Sunday Parade, the Christmas Pageant and the remembrances on Indigenous and Orange Shirt Sundays. If you have missed those experiences, Raven Bright Moon provides a brief explanation of smudging on the KUC You Tube Channel. June 16, 2024.

Another member said Denise’s talk about Tetanus and sustainable health care, during her time in Sierra Leone so engaged the children that it was interesting and fun to watch. If you missed that one check out June 30, 2024.

In August 2024, we started welcoming newcomers from Ghana and Nigeria who had fled their homelands under fear of violence or death because they belong to the 2+LGBTQIA+  community. By the end of the year their numbers increased to thirty, with many of them seeking full membership in Kitchissippi UC. They have brought many talents and gifts with them and a new energy which is revitalizing our mature congregation. To watch one of the many new member celebrations, go to December 8, 2024.

Thank you to all who have contributed to the worship life of Kitchissippi United Church.
