Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care

The Pastoral Care Circle has met twice this year and we have frequent communication and email contact between meetings. Our goal is to provide support and encouragement to people in the congregation who are experiencing health issues, losses, or other challenges, and to acknowledge and celebrate with those who are celebrating births, weddings, anniversaries, etc. We also try to keep in regular contact with those who are no longer able to attend church, such as those experiencing health issues and those who are now in retirement homes.

Congratulations, get well or sympathy cards are sent when we hear of a need. Thank you to Donna Kricorissian who sends the majority of these cards over the course of the year.

Everyone on the pastoral care list receives a card for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. These friends also receive plants at Easter and Christmas. We very much appreciate members of the congregation who kindly donate their time to help in the plant deliveries. We get feedback from the recipients that the plants and visits are greatly appreciated and bring cheer.

This year, sadly, we once again lost cherished members of the congregation. Pastoral care, along with UCW and other members of the congregation, continue to assist families with funeral receptions, when requested. Although food for funeral receptions is provided by the families, we assist in set up, serving, making tea and coffee, and clean up. Thank you to all who have helped in this way.

Thank you to the members of the Pastoral Care Circle for your caring and dedication. Other members of the Circle are Jenni Leslie, Donna Kricorissian, Valerie Pellerin and Frank Chapman. Please notify any of us if you know of anyone who needs some support or has a life event which we would want to acknowledge.
