Learning Opportunities

Kitchissippi United has a wide variety of opportunities for Faith Formation for Adults

Ecological Christianity Circle This circle of “learning, support and action” focuses on our relationship with all of Creation and how it informs our faith and our daily decisions about how we live our lives. The circle meets monthly, at the church, in someone’s home or outdoors. Each year the Circle plans and leads a special Worship service, usually on the Sunday closest to Earth Day.  The Circle organizes and annual open to all, called “Rooted in Earth, Growing in Spirit”, at Tucker House Environmental Learning and Retreat Centre in Rockland.

Right Relations Circle Over several years church members have taken steps to educate themselves about the history and current circumstances of Aboriginal peoples in Canada, and about the relationship between Aboriginals and non-Aboriginal peoples, including the legacy of the Residential Schools system. Church members have actively supported several campaigns and initiatives including Project of Heart, the Kairos campaign working towards the full implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, and the work of the First Nations Family and Child Caring Society.

Bible Discovery These monthly gatherings with the Minister use secondary sources to guide us to new understandings of the Bible and faith. The sessions take place from 7- 9 pm in the Boardroom. All Welcome!

Minister’s Meal and a Movie – This is a bi-annual event where the Minister (Rev. Jenni) hosts a meal followed by a short (film) movie and discussion.  Come to learn and discuss and find a way forward, together.  No need to RSVP.. just come! Children are welcome.

Short Film Study – Once a month after worship, there is an opportunity to watch and discuss a short film. The video is followed by about 30 minutes of discussion.
