Governance of Kitchissippi United Church

The life and work of Kitchissippi United Church is governed by principles, a governance structure and a planning cycle.

Kitchissippi has established a Council and a Board of Trustees, but the Congregation is the preeminent body.   Kitchissippi's Church Council is comprised of a group dedicated to providing leadership to the Church.  It's very important to ensure that Church Council is closely connected with the congregation - communication is central to all that we do. 

We have also chosen to have ‘Circles' of Worship, Outreach, Pastoral Care and Faith Formation because ‘Circles' represent our community, arm in arm, facing outward to the world as we do God's work. 

Council has a number of Committees, including: Finance, Property, Ministry & Personnel and a Nominating Committee.  The Executive of Council consists of the Chair, Vice Chairs and Chairs of Council Committees.  The Executive shall meet as required, and generally may convene in the absence of Council.
