Kitchissippi United Church Calendar of Events and Upcoming Worship 2012

Sunday  January  22             10am     3nd after Epiphany - Guests Hallelujah Gospel Chorus

**The teens and young adults of the church are invited to join in the fun with the Hallelujah Chorus, and sing one of their gospel numbers with them.  Immediately after worship this Sunday, Stephanie Coward-Yaskiw will lead a rehearsal to learn a gospel piece to sing with the choir on the 22nd.  There will be a second rehearsal on Thursday, Jan. 19 at 5:45 pm., in the sanctuary.

Sunday January 22              11am      First monthly  “Soup Sunday”  a time for fellowship and nourishment.

When and Where: after church service in the upper hall) 

Cost: Free will offering for a bowl of home-made soup and a fresh bun. This January’s soup will be prepared by the  Ecological Christianity Circle. Upcoming Soup Sundays (after church)

·       Sunday February 26 (AGM Sunday)

·       Sunday March 18

·       Sunday April 22

All the soup recipes will be made from the KUCSoups, Stews and  One-Pot Meals Cookbook. These Cookbooks are available after church for $15.00 (while quantities last)!

 Friday    January 27      DINNER AND A MOVIE NIGHT at 5:30pm

Spaghetti Dinner (gluten free pasta will be available), prepared by the Minister and the Youth Group.  If you are able, bring a small dessert to share. The movie the older people will be watching will be A Small Act (http://asmallact.com), a documentary film about one Kenyan boy's educational journey, made possible by a woman's small contributions from thousands of miles away. 

The movies the younger people will be watching will be Veggie Tales (http://veggietales.com) and lead by Laurie Joe and others. All are welcome!  (If you know you will be able to attend, please sign up on the sheet in the Hall, just so we know how much food to make.)  If you have any questions, please ask Rev. Jenni 

Sunday  March 4       Kitchissippi Curling at 3:30 pm at The Navy Curling (RCN) Club - 41 Navy Pvt. Dows Lake. Curling followed by social time. All welcome -curlers, non-curlers, spectators, family and friends. Cost $10.00 per curler. This will cover the cost for ice time and snacks. If you are interested please call the church office.

Annual KUC Alpine Ski/Snow Board Trip to Monts Cascades

Please join KUC skiers on Sunday February 5th at Monts Cascades. All ages welcome.

We will meet in the lodge at 12:30 for lunch. Bring your own picnic or buy there. You can then buy a ticket for as many hours as you would like to ski. We will start skiing at 2pm. Please RSVP to the church office.
