WEDDINGS

Congratulations and Welcome!

We would like to welcome you to Kitchissippi United Church for your wedding ceremony.  We will do our best to help you celebrate your marriage with a meaningful service of worship as you make your vows of faithfulness and love.

This guide will explain the various options for weddings at Kitchissippi United Church and will help you in planning for your special day.

THE SERVICE

Minister

The Minister of Kitchissippi United Church will conduct all weddings at the Church.

An initial meeting with the Minister should be arranged as soon as possible.  This introductory meeting will allow for a general discussion on the service and to confirm the date and time of the wedding.  A final meeting should be held to rehearse the ceremony itself, with all of the active participants attending.

Music

The Music Director/Organist at Kitchissippi United Church is available to play for all weddings.  If a professional singer is requested by the family, they should bring the music (in the correct key for the soloist) to the church, at least two weeks in advance. There is a fee for extra rehearsals.

Miscellaneous

Flowers - Floral displays may be used and may be placed anywhere within reason in the Sanctuary.  Any type of wall adornment that entails fixing of any kind is not allowed. Arrangements can be made for delivery of the flowers the day of the wedding. Please advise the Office Administrator if you will be leaving any of the flowers for the following Sunday worship service.

Candles - Drip less candles are allowed in the church and should be discussed with Minister.

Other decorations - May be used in consultation with the Minister.

Confetti, etc. may not be used within the church building or outside.

Reception-If you wish to have the reception in the church hall, arrangements can be made when you book your marriage.  Please note that alcohol is NOT permitted in the church building and outside caters must be used.
