Most Important Goals

Council and the various Circles have worked to develop the following goals for the next 2 years to give focus to the building of our new faith community and establish it visibly in the local Ottawa West, and wider Ottawa community.

Kitchissippi United Church is committed to all facets of Church life and Christian faith. The Church's congregation shall weave the traditions of the three founding churches in a new fabric that emphasizes Worship, Christian Teaching, Faith Formation, Pastoral Care and Outreach.

Kitchissippi United Church shall establish Most Important Goals

1. Forge a Deep and Abiding Spiritual Relationship among our Ministers and individuals and families of the Church through Joyful Worship and Music for all, and Pastoral Care for the congregation.

2. Develop a Christian and Values-Based Youth Program that establishes Kitchissippi United as a faith community for families.

3. Present a Series of Conversations on Faith for adults of all ages founded on Christian teachings and spiritual reflection.

4. Implement a vibrant outreach program based on education and awareness raising, and Continued  Support for Local and Global Needs. One emerging focus is the support provided by various areas of the Church for meeting needs in Africa.

5. Approve a Long Term Property Plan for the Church including the manner in which, and for what purposes properties not retained shall be used in the future.

Using the above Goals as a foundation, Church committees and functions will shape their activities and programming. Goals in the areas of Finance, M&P, UCW and Communications will be developed in support of all areas of Church Life. The Most Important Goals shall be communicated to the congregation to engage members and adherents in the building of the Kitchissippi United faith community.
